How did you come to live and work in Stroud?

I moved to the area with my parents in 2002 at the age of 13. In 2007 I moved to Clarence Town and then back to Stroud when my husband and I bought our first home in 2009.

What do you love about the town?

I love the friendly community and the fact that the town offers everything we need to live here comfortably.

What is your favourite aspect of working in real estate?

I love meeting new people, and having the opportunity to visit some magical, beautiful properties and areas.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love spending time with family and friends, horse riding and being outdoors

I have been a rental property client of the above company for the past 4 years, having moved from another well known local real estate company in April 2011. R & R Property have restored my confidence in rental property management, and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone as Rental Management Agents.

My property was managed by another Agency since I purchased it in 2003. Initially I had no complaints with that Agency but as time went on and the staff changing over the years, I realised that my confidence was waning as cracks in their service were gradually beginning to appear and I was needing to be more vigilant myself of the management of my own rental, often being asked to sort out what should have been their problem, which not only cost me dearly in time but ultimately in money as well, as I was paying commission for what......to virtually manage it myself.
I had a string of 'bad' tenants during 2009-2011 which in retrospect I now believe was poor judgement of their screening - the rent would get behind, the water consumption wouldn't be paid for months etc. which I would observe from the monthly statements and be forever reminding them to do their job.

The final straw was that unfortunately I was badly vandalized during the final tenancy with this company and whilst my insurance paid for the damage etc. I made the simple request that from then on the property was only to be rented to a well vetted family at a higher rent, even if it meant waiting a while. A month later I received a letter asking me to take my property away from them as they did not feel they would be able to find a suitable tenant to meet my criteria!

Disgusted but relieved, I immediately signed up with R & R and within 2 weeks had a suitable family move in at a 25% higher rent and they have been there since, absolute model tenants, with no intention of moving out. Not only did R & R seek out first class tenants but by having specific members of staff who deal soley with 'rentals', issues are dealt with immediately and efficiently, without passing the problem to the owner. Apart from unavoidable emergencies I am now only contacted to be advised they have dealt with a task, not to ask me to deal with it for them. They carry out very regular inspections, inviting me to be there if I wish and follow up with a very comprehensive Inspection Checklist a few days later. Statements are presented on time and the correct money is in the bank each month, without me wondering if there will be a shortfall.
I would add that I have been in the rental market for over 20 years in various capacities in several towns and without doubt I put R & R Property high up on my list, for their commitment, efficiency and excellent service.

I have found all staff members at R & R to be extremely obliging and professional. I have dealt with a number of Real Estate Agents over time and in my opinion R & R are streets ahead of the rest.
